in 1977, one of our favorites, willie nelson made an album for a friend and admirer, leftie frizell, of his songs. stylistically, willie translated his songs and put his heart into the songs and conveyed his appreciation of leftie’s music and friendship.
Double Agent ipod several years later, fellow athenian, matthew houck of phosphorescent made an album of willie nelson’s songs giving similar respects, to willie.
……while the songs may be sung in a different note or tone, the beauty runs deep. love for music and ones integrity and creativity can be appreciated and inspiring to us all.
we recommend both albums, hit up your local record shop and request a copy. perfect spring music for a country drive.
