angela, or as many know her: gubby, and ryan are two artists and collectors who live and work in atlanta. gubby works for the hudgens center for the arts , and is a long time printmaker and crafter with a line of bags and pillows called gubstuff. ryan works for the animated website HomestarRunner.com, where he edits and prepares cartoons for their various outlets. He also takes on various projects like shooting music videos and designing websites.
together these two make a great husband and wife team in arranging a home composed of vintage and modern collections as well as displaying works by today’s emerging artists.
thanks to angela and ryan for sharing with us! -kristen
i found this AMAZING fake fireplace/record player/wet bar at an antiques store in columbia, SC when ryan and i were dating. he quickly rented a truck and brought this treasure home in a hurry
this is the only room in the house that hasn’t been painted by us and we have plans for a new floor and tile backsplash along with new wall color in the near future. i am kind of obsessed with all things kitchen related, even though ryan is the one that does almost all of the cooking.
the piano we purchased from craigslist a little over two years ago for ryan’s birthday from his parents and i. above the piano we have displayed part of our charlie harper ford times magazine collection. i made the 4 x 8 foot good house keeping seal of approval woodcut over the desk when i was in grad school.
the giant pillow cases were made from an ikea duvet cover salvaged from the seconds room. ryan and i also made all of the roman shades in the house.
the kelly green paint came along after a major painting project when all of the wall paint started bubbling and flaking off a few months after ryan moved in. most of our collection of snow globes can be found here!
this is the room that houses ALOT of the “stuff:” records, movies, artwork, magazines, pez, etc.
what used to be mostly ryan’s office has now been invaded and is mostly gub’s sewing room and studio. we’ve tried to make it as user friendly for both of us as possible. the card catalogue houses office and art supplies. the
vintage G U B letters were a birthday gift from ryan.
one of our favorite photos by friend mike chapman and an old grocery store bread shelf provides a nice little focal point between the two bedrooms.

oh yeah your home is one that keeps me awake at night daydreamin’. thanks for sharing.
Loved seeing all of Gub’s cool stuf so artfully displayed and artfully photographed!
She is as always an inspiration!
I adore the bright, cheery colors in their home. They echo my palatte and it’s nice to see something similar. It’s severly lacking in all the places I have been looking to for inspiration.
Great house — love the Charley Harper wall!
