a couple of my favorite things are: fresh flowers and fresh herbs. fresh flowers in your home just make you feel good and fresh herbs make food taste so good. when spring rolls around i love to frequent our local nurseries and see what new flowers and herbs i can plant. yesterday i spent a bit of my day planting some of my new finds. we also had a sick tree taken down this week and i decided to use the remaining stump for a “flower pot”, making new uses for old things…..

I haven’t lived in the south for 16 years, but your recipes, photos, and writing tone brought it all back to me. Today I’m going to make your strawberry preserves to take as a hostess gift to a party. My dad, of blessed memory always wanted peach pie as a comfort food, so peaches from the local farm are now on my shopping list. And, I now know why my friend’s gift of a cast iron fry pan was so perfect when I left Atlanta for Upstate New York. thank you.
