kristen bach and josh skinner have both worked at r.wood studio for over 5 years. when they decided to get married last year, we all thought: ‘it’s about time!’. there have been other r.wood weddings before, and for each we have all pitched in to make plates, do the flowers, take photographs, and even serve up food or play music. but kristen and josh wanted to take this “do it yourself” approach to a whole other level- with a big vision and a small budget, they aimed to make, or have their friends make, just about everything related to their wedding. from the food to the dishes, to the dress and the flowers, everything was homemade or homegrown.
setting their wedding in the country, outdoors at the brick house, introduced their families from the midwest to the beauty of the south and the friends they have made here. the summer day proved to be an inspiring, festive, and relaxing celebration of the union of these two creative, genuine people.
