Peaches have just ripened here in NZ. This is a very ice and easy recipe with simple, basic, local ingredients ...except for Cardamom, which is from India - what the heck is it doing in a southern recipe? I left it out and also cut back on the sugar. It just seemed excessive with nice fresh, sweet peaches.

Absolutely delicious and wonderfully easy to make! Thank you so much for posting this, I have been looking for a sweet biscuit topping for years that didn't have "Bisquick" or some other premix in it. Made this with fresh peaches this morning and can't wait to try more recipes with this topping! And who doesn't love cooking in cast iron!??

Yes... it's 10:44pm, and I'm baking peach cobbler... your recipe :o) When I saw this post, I just had to try it. I'm pretty spontaneous in the kitchen, so off to the grocery store I went. Okay, I just pulled it out of the oven... I'm going to wait for it to cool a little... I don't know if I can wait 20 minutes. Thank you for sharing. This biscuit topping idea is just genius.
