Kickstarter is a funding platform for artists, designers, filmmakers, musicians, journalists, inventors, explorers…

i know that many of us have a long running list of good ideas, goals, and projects that could use a bit of help getting started.   i found a website, kickstarter that that does just that.

kickstart.com is a site dedicated to posting peoples project ideas and endeavors and getting people of interest to pledge.  here you can find projects ranging from making music albums and movies to building cities.

don’t have an amazing idea you want to make happen?  donate to one that has.   there are so many great ones out there!

even though it’s been dry, our well is deep, and our garden looks lush.  a tropical looking forest of green surrounds our little garden plot, threatening to engulf it.  we’re keeping the bamboo at bay, and starting to pick tons of tomatoes and beans.  the sunflowers reward us with their exuberance.  it’s a good time in the garden.

01_full moon farm

last week, we had a visitor- this lady came to town, so we headed out to full moon farm early on a friday morning so she could get some country time.

we arrived just in time for the morning harvest. we began by walking the land with farm 255 GM olivia sargeant & her dog atticus, then wandered around & took photographs, and finally kneeled down and helped pick beans for the restaurant and the farm’s CSA boxes. the rest of the helpers were made up of staff from the restaurant, CSA box subscribers, and friends who wanted to start their day by getting their hands dirty…

dr. jordan, a UGA ecology professor and his family own the land and operate spring valley ecofarms, the non-profit umbrella organization from which full moon farms leases our crop and pasture land from, and partners in a collaborative land stewardship & sustainable ag education program.  the farm is managed by; jason mann and tended by many local farmers and farm 255 employees.

what a wonderful day it was!
