marilyn’s coca-cola baked apples
garden to table
for many of us…. holidays and food go hand and hand. it is a time to bring out the heirloom recipes and spend some time in the kitchen.
my friend leslie came back from thanksgiving and shared her mother, marilyn’s recipe for coca-cola baked apples.
coca-cola was born in the south. it is an unlikely ingredient found in many traditional southern dishes- both sweet and savory. to find other recipes using coca-cola click here.
to make marilyn’s coca-cola baked apples:
core apples
put in baking pan
sprinkle with cinnamon
pour a can of coke over apples and into pan
cover with foil
bake at 325 for 1 hour or until falling apart
enjoy alone or with some vanilla ice cream and nuts!
sweet goods tin. wispy branches

r.wood studio
homes and habitats
come on into our studio…..
rebecca started her handmade ceramics business back in 1991, with a few orders from boutique stores in new york.
things grew and grew, and now she stays busy designing and making plates, platters and bowls, as well as inspiring others to use their own creativity to make the world a more beautiful place.
rebecca strives to create a workplace that nourishes and inspires creativity. ‘r.wooders’, as they are affectionately called, make coming to work a joy. every day there is wisdom, laughter, and encouragement for all. it is a community of shared work, and a place of creative ferment. lots of ideas are born out of our conversations and discussions, as well as lots of laughs. all are appreciated for the talents they bring to r.wood studio, and their efforts to make sure everything gets done on time. we are all thankful to have a job making beauty with people we love. it really doesn’t get any better than that.

an old time southern staple
garden to table
it is hard to get more basic than black – eyed peas, collards, and cornbread. in the old days, many a farm family got by on that. it is a wise choice for today, too, as it is inexpensive, high in fiber, high protein, and low fat. did I mention it is satisfying and delicious?
