let there be light…

instant inspiration

…in your new year.

it’s the beginning of a new decade, time to turn a new leaf…

here are some resolutions we might all consider :

-unplug. get out in nature. leave your cell phone at home.  listen to the wind, the waves, the birds, your own heart, and breathe deep…

-learn to do something creative. learn to knit, take a pottery class, do some flower arranging,  or learn how to make something homemade; homemade wine, jam, or relish.  it’ll make you feel proud of your self sufficiency and you’ll have something to share.

-remember to smile more.  someone once asked the dali lama what one thing they could do to make the world a better place, and he said “smile”.

-do something you’ve always wanted to do.  go somewhere you’ve always wanted to go.  inspire yourself, and you can inspire others.

-always count your blessings.  simple things like heat and indoor plumbing would be an amazing luxury to most of the people in the world.  be thankful for all the things you have.

- encourage others. everyone needs to hear a word of encouragement at some time.
if i like some-one’s hairdo or outfit or creative project, i always tell them it looks great.  a friendly word can brighten some-one’s day, and often give them the resolve to keep going.  we all need that sometimes, so don’t hold back.

-let the ones you love know you love them.  love is what we’re here for .

-create some beauty however you can.

have a wonderful creative and happy new year
from all of us at r.wood studio & beautyeveryday!
