herbed vinegar
garden to table
when spring comes around i love to make this herbed vinegar.. it is easy and is a great addition to any spring salad. all you need is vinegar and some fresh herbs and whole garlic cloves. over time the vinegar will extract the flavor from the fresh herbs.

most southerners have a love-hate relationship with the wisteria vine. the fast growing vines can take down a tree in no time, but the sweet lavender blooms scent will easily take your breath away.

in the country
the daffodils put on a show for easter. we set up a long table under the cedar grove, and served up a southern feast: ham, sweet potatoes, slaw, collard greens, black eyed peas, cornbread, sweet tea, and lemon cake. we enjoyed each others company and the yummy food, while a spring breeze swayed the branches overhead.

recently, we spent the day hiking through the oconee national forest. we admired the trees that parked themselves along the riverbank. their moss-covered roots wove together, made patterns and clenched to the walls-holding on for dear life.
