at shaking rock park there’s a swamp at the bottom of the hill. i was mesmerized by the late winter reflections on the water’s surface. i love the interplay between earth and sky. it gets totally abstract the more you look at it…
the one that got away
in the country
don’t you just hate it when you find some awesome old antique shop out in the country, but it’s closed? this one looked so enticing i may have to make the trip back to elberton to check it out. it had a number to call on the door, but the old man who answered said he was in south carolina, and apologized for not being there. oh well…
smokehouse
homes and habitats
here’s an inside look at a building that has always been referred to as ‘the smokehouse’, but i don’t know if it really ever was one. one thing’s for sure; it was built to last. take a look at the timbers and floor joists. it probably had a shake roof before the tin roof.
