all the fields of pasture grass around here have been so pretty, full of birds, and then patches of daisies and purple flowers. now it’s time to harvest, and the sound of tractors and hay balers is heard. first the grass is cut and laid (by the machines) in long, neat rows. it dries quickly in the early summer heat. next comes the machine that somehow scrapes it all up and makes a huge roll out of it. seems like in one week all the pasture grass is gone, and hay bales cover the landscape. the farmers are happy because they had a good crop. plenty of food for the livestock. now i’ll see what they plant next..
