grilled tomatoes

homes and habitats

July 18th, 2011

we have been having some hot days this summer.  the last thing that i have been wanting to do is cook in a hot kitchen so we have been doing a lot of grilling.  my current favorite thing to grill is cherry tomatoes.  it helps that we have got plenty of fresh ones coming each day.  you can add them to pasta, make a tomato sandwich, or just eat them as a first.

in the country

covered in kudzu

homes and habitats

July 13th, 2011

when i first came to the south, i was completely amazed by the kudzu.  to this very day, i am still amazed how it can cover something so quickly and transform an object into something monster-like.  as invasive and intrusive as it is, there is something kind of magical about it.  on a recent drive i documented some good examples of kudzu in action.
