the idea for beautyeveryday.com came about in 2001, before blogs, before the web was the hub of inspiration it is today. we are happy to finally have this space to share with you all of the things that we love about the south, where we find beauty, inspiration. occasionally we will travel elsewhere, but mostly, we will focus on the place we call home.

kristen bach

kristen bach spent the first part of her life getting to know the midwest. several years ago, she migrated to athens GA, where she fell in love with the people, traditions, history, food, landscape, and the natural beauty of the South. kristen allows these inspirations to find their way into her artwork and way of living. she fills her days making, creating, and taking the time to enjoy her surroundings and get to know the south. kristen has spent the past several years working creatively with rebecca and rinne at r.wood studio she now oversees beautyeveryday.com.


rebecca wood

rebecca wood spent her childhood exploring the creeks and woods around her home, making paperdolls,drawing pictures and making clothes for her barbie dolls. she studied painting in college, and spent the next ten years painting still lives. after her daughter was born she decided to get into design work, and was soon sewing handmade hats, making handpainted velvets, and designing jewelry in addition to her painting. she signed up for some china painting classes, which led to an interest in making her own plates in clay. with a rolling pin and a yard sale kiln, she started making plates, people started buying, and r.wood studio was born. 17 years later, r.wood studio plates are collected all over the country,and rebecca is still creating new designs all the time. rebecca’s drawing can be seen here on the site.

rinne allen

rinne allen is a photographer who lives in an old house with a big yard near downtown athens with her husband, their son, three cats, three chickens, and thousands of honeybees. she was raised in athens, georgia and enjoys getting to know the place where she grew up. she has worked with r.wood studio since 1995, weaving her way from glazing the pottery to running the office to eventually overseeing rwoodstudio.com. she now has a small studio for all of her own projects and she & rebecca & kristen meet there often for tea. you can see her work at rinneallen.comrinne helped design this site.
