I love tin clad buildings, especially on an overcast day. They shimmer. this one is in rayle, georgia. I imagine it used to be a store. It's got such a cute little boxy shape.

Read Moremy sister and i visited a 'new' garden, gibbs gardens in north georgia, right off highway 53. i say 'new', because it is newly opened to the public, but it has been a work in progress for over 24 years! it's been open to the public for three years. acres and acres of themed gardens ( 224 acres, to be exact ). i liked the japanese garden the best.

Read Morei was driving around north georgia and saw this amazing place. turns out a man named dell owns it and he's a go-to harmonica player for every big star you've ever heard of! also has a large coca cola collection inside. so if you're on highway 53 near 400, go check it out. of course, i mainly liked the 'junk'. love signs made out of found scrap metal!

i visited shaking rock park to look for spring. the granite boulders are very photogenic, and so are the lichens and shadows. at the bottom of the hill is a swamp where spring was in full procession.

Read Morei spied this old homeplace hiding in the woods. it almost looked cheery with all the daffodils blooming in the front yard! enormous oaks surrounded it. now it's just fading into history, all alone. i love to explore these old places.
