they other day i saw this old building.  i love all of the holes, patches, and layers.  it’s a beauty!

on a recent drive, this old fertilizer company caught my eye.   the exterior walls were stained from the red clay, patched with wood scraps, signage that was faded, and the rusted tin.  the interior was blank and the light peeked in through the many holes. picturesque….

our friend nancy sold her big ol’ house to our friends kat and susan.  the wonderful spirit of the big ol’ house lives on in their wonderful, colorful arrangements and accents around the home.  here’s a look -  stay tuned for more on the big ol’ house!

our friend nancy has quite an eye for antiques and really has a knack for putting it all together.  for years, she lived in a ‘big ol’ house’ chock full of visual treats.  now she’s moved in to a smaller house that she created from a shotgun house she moved to her property and added onto, with the help of her talented carpenter friend, james.  lots of wonderful additions were made, and now it is just perfect, with a treehouse like porch on the back overlooking the woods. here are some pics of the pleasing interior.

while heading through tate, georgia the other day, we saw this old ruins on the side of the road and decided to explore.  i don’t know what it used to be, but there’s only lonely beauty there now.

as we all know, the holidays can be so busy!  this sunday we needed to get out to the country.  my friends kat and susan invited us out to their farm to meet their new baby alpaca.  we had fun frolicking around with them.  it really doesn’t get much better than that!

this sunday my family and i went to jack’s creek christmas tree farm to pick out a tree.  it had been years, maybe 15 years since i had gone and done this.  it sure brought back some memories and we all had some fun!   we even went on a hay ride….through the tunnel of lights.  gotta love the holidays!
