the second of november. KATHRYN REFI

instant inspiration

October 29th, 2010

we have a handful of inspiring people that work at the rwood studio.  everyone has their hands in various projects such as painting, sculpture, printmaking, music, comedy, performance art, and writing.  we all inspire one another and support one another in our creative endeavors.

on the second of november, one of our artists;  kathryn refi is having an opening of her latest project.  she will be showing two bodies of work both centered around the day she was born.  the first is a group of pastel and charcoal drawings of events that happened the day that she was born.  the second is a group of graphite drawings of new york times crossword puzzles that she worked.  kathryn noted that there was one year that the paper was not printed due to a printing strike.

wedding flora

seasonal bloom

June 8th, 2010

i was just revisiting photographs from our wedding day and needed to share.  two years ago yesterday, we tied the knot!

i still can’t believe how amazing the flowers were!  all of the flora used was found in our yards, gardens, or the side of the road.  peaches…marigolds…geraniums…magnolias…fig branches…thistle…zinnias…dill…fennel…queen anne’s lace…and much more.

the arrangements were made by my lovely friends;  rinne, rebecca, and kathryn and were scattered throughout.

the memories from our wedding day keep getting more beautiful with time…  click on the pictures below for easy viewing
