we got really lucky ( only a southerner would say that ) this winter with not one, but two snows! the one last week was just supposed to be an inch,but i measured 4 inches in the field. it was piled high on every branch and limb, creating a beautiful wonderland in the early morning light. however, in true southern snow fashion, as the sun rose,so did the temperature,and by afternoon the snow was all gone. i got out early and marvelled at the magic before it all disappeared.
