i grew up in wisconsin so snow is something that i have been around all of my life. i have been living in georgia for nearly a decade now and i have adopted the southerners excitement of snow.
it starts a week or more when there is any slight possibility of a wintry mix. even if it is 10%, people start to get excited. then as each day gets closer and closer it seems to be what everyone talks about. the grocery & liquor stores are full of people buying up everything that they will need to get through the storm. schools cancel before a single flurry drops. and the excitement fills the air. and then... when the flurries fall, the town shuts down. everyone takes a day to play.
my first year here i thought it was hilarious. now after being here 10 years i have embraced this overjoyous excitement of flurries and the snow day!
it is really quite romantic.
