for those of you still have some things left in your garden from winter, chances are that you may have some greens that are starting to flower. when you are pulling out the plants to make room for your spring plants, save some of the greens and flowers and make this simple dish. the toasted flax seeds add a nutty sweetness to the bitter winter greens. yum!
ingredients
flowering greens (or use any greens)
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil or toasted sesame oil would be good too
1/4 cup of toasted flax seeds (available at your local health food store)
salt and pepper
directions
-cut up the greens into 1 piece pieces
-on high heat, heat up the olive oil
-add the chopped greens
-sautee for a couple of minutes
-remove from heat and toss with the flax seeds
-enjoy!
