our family has been camping in florida this week so we have been cooking on a little camp stove or in the coals lately. this is one of my favorite morning breakfasts to make when we are camping.
CAMP OATS WITH BANANA
serves 3 campers
- 1 cup steel cut oats
- 2 cups or more water
- Sprinkle of salt
- Banana
- 1 pat of butter
- Drizzle of maple syrup
- Nuts or granola are optional for a little crunch
-boil water and oats and cook until they cooked
-while the oats are cooking, cook the bananas
-melt your pat of butter and add sliced bananas
-griddle the bananas on medium heat until they get some color, flip them half way through
-when oats are done cooking, sprinkle with salt and put a big scoop in each bowl
-drizzle with maple syrup and top with a few banana slices and any other toppings you want to add
-enjoy
