Read Morethe malone's
john and carolyn malone have a tree farm outside madison, georgia. they have collected old log buildings and restored them into guest cottages and a lovely home. many creative touches, and low key decorating prove that less is more, or at least more refreshing! there is also an awesome ceiling light that john made out of vines and fall leaves. that’s john standing underneath it.

Read Moremeadows dry goods
rinne, rebecca and i went to asheville a couple of weeks ago. we stopped by meadow's dry goods to check it out. it is a studio space with a a sweet shop filled with many asheville made goodies. the space was great filled with original general store shelving and now houses fabric, sewing machines, their "DIY library", and more. we found some treasures and put some on our wishlist too.

Read Moreold town buildings
it isn't all that uncommon to drive through any small town in the south and see a line of old town buildings, closed for buisiness. we drove by this group of buildings in south georgia and i loved the vines that moved and probably helped take it down. now these vines are the only thing keeping it standing.

on monday we did a post on the most recent shotgun supper in thomasville, georgia. everything about that evening was quite amazing.....including the location.
thomasville is known for it's quail hunting. there are many of hunting plantations tucked away amongst the tall pines. this platation was a friend's family plantation and it rested on 15,000 acres of the most beautiful woods you could imagine.
hunting season is right around the corner! have fun taking a peek!

Read Moresmokey road press
{today's post was created by michelle norris, who interns with rinne. good job, michelle!}
a couple of months ago, i began slowly but surely learning the art of letterpress. it took me no time at all to realize the love and care that must go into every creation. in the wake of my new found appreciation for this craft, it was a special treat to visit smokey road press in the leather's building in athens, ga. margot ecke was kind enough to demonstrate some of the techniques that she uses in her letterpress and bookbinding shop, as well as letting me visit with her sweet dog. make sure to stop by to see margot's finely crafted pieces, and maybe learn some skills of your own. it's not an experience that you'll want to miss.
